The Kumon Tokai Study Centre opened in 1997 under the initial instruction of Ingrid Moore, and has been running for over 25 years. We operate at a commercial business park where we foster a calm and safe learning environment for students.
Offering both English and Mathematics as well as Kumon Connect, our online digital study platform.
Our students range in age from pre-schoolers to teenagers, as the flexible nature of the Kumon Programme allows it to be individualised to meet the learning needs of students across all ages and abilities by working on the ‘just right level.’
Younger students are accommodated in a separate classroom to older students, in order to support different learning needs.
We have a separate reading area with a variety of books, to encourage and peak interest in reading from a young age.
Nikki, the instructor and a dedicated team of four-full time and two part-time well-trained, energetic and dynamic assistants, work together to provide an environment of study that encourages within each individual student a desire to learn and an enjoyment of learning! The development of these skills is necessary for success in the higher levels of English and Maths – allowing students to achieve and progress beyond grade level.
We are open five days a week and offer the flexibility of attending the centre twice a week on any of these days, as well as our online classes. We have a drop-and-go system as well as wheelchair access, should it be needed.

Success Stories
Improvements with school results. One child went from obtaining 67% for Maths in Term 1 to 100% in Term 3 after her lessons at Kumon.
